Santiago de Compostela

This series was made while walking to Santiago de Compostela. I carried a small point-and-shoot camera and photographed along the way, without a fixed plan. The images came from moments that appeared during the walk, changes in light, landscapes passing by, and brief pauses in between.

Working with a simple camera allowed me to stay close to the experience. There was no setup or intention to make specific images. I responded to what was in front of me, often quickly, sometimes without fully knowing why. The photographs feel direct and unpolished, shaped by movement and time rather than control.

The journey itself became part of the work. Walking for days creates a different way of seeing. Distances shift, details become more noticeable, and small moments begin to carry more weight. The repetition of the road, the rhythm of steps, and the changing surroundings all influence the images.

This series is not a document of the route, but a reflection of being on it. The photographs exist somewhere between observation and memory, capturing fragments of a longer experience that is difficult to fully hold on to.
